What to include in a freelance proposal
Every winning proposal has the same seven parts: the client's problem restated, the outcome they want, your recommended solution, concrete deliverables, a timeline, tiered pricing, and one clear next step.
Start with their problem, not your bio. Clients skim for themselves first. Your experience belongs in a short why-us section near the end, framed as proof you can deliver this outcome.
Make deliverables countable. Homepage redesign, booking flow, and launch checklist beats website overhaul. Countable scope prevents scope creep arguments later.
End every proposal with a single action: approve, pick a package, or book a call. Proposals that end with thank you for your consideration end in silence.
Answer the two objections you always hear before the client raises them. Price and timeline doubts handled in writing never become ghosting later.
